Research on Social Networks

In Social Networks on July 31, 2006 at 4:02 pm

I gave a talk in June at the Swiss House for Advanced Education and Research (SHARE) here in Cambridge, where I presented the different projects I’m working on at the moment. There is a nice picture on the Swiss House Blog about the event with all the presenters:

Social networks: citation network in social science articles

In Social Networks on July 31, 2006 at 3:36 pm

Together with my colleagues David Lazer and Allan Friedman, I am working on a citation network of articles published in the American Journal of Sociology (AJS) and the American Sociological Review (ASR). We came up with a first citation network of overlapping cited references for articles published in 2005. You can find the first graphic on the Complexity and Social Networks Blog and on the website of the Program on Networked Governance.

We are in the process of developing two other citation networks for the years 2000 and 1995-1990 and will upload them soon.

The graphic was published on August 4, 2006: Science, Vol. 313 on p. 606 in Karen Heyman’s article on “Sociology: Making Connections“.
